WHO WE ARE
Two friends on a mission to give seriously good bodywork - without taking ourselves too seriously.
Spring Tides Massage heralds the return of Mikaela and Anna's collaboration (see published works) - best friends and business partners who are committed to spreading joy, which we believe is the true foundation to wellness.
This idealogy was born from feeling out of our element in many wellness settings, where there seemed a lack of permission to be our authentic selves & have fun with it.
Reflecting on our time in massage school, we realized that being our lighthearted selves while still being accepted by our community fed our energy & inspired our purpose. This experience further grew our love for massage and drives our desire to help others feel the same.
By nature this is an inclusive, come as you are space. No judgement, no expectations, and no such thing as a silly question.

Anna
I came to massage by way of restaurant work, looking for a job that would allow me to live a more balanced life. I am excited to be back in Portland to focus on a private practice after living in Minneapolis and working with the University of Minnesota.
Having spent the last two years working closely with college athletes, one of my main strengths is focusing on injury prevention and recovery. This often looks like spending an intensive session just on one shoulder or engaging collaboratively with my client
to target where specific patterns of pain might be originating from and working together to address it.
I enjoy creating an environment where people can truly relax and reconnect their body and mind -especially for those who don't have the space to do that in their jobs or lives.
Because of this I am committed to providing discounted rates for people in a
service industry. If you fall into that category please contact me for details!
My personal practice seeks to continue this kind of work, focusing on managing potential or old injuries, chronic pain, and stress. Other aspects of my massage style include a slow pace, hanging out on a spot until it begins to relax, passive movement of your limbs, utilizing the way your muscles react to inform the massage as we go, and grounding everything I do in curiosity.

Mikaela
As an LMT, an esthetician, and an Ashiatsu practitioner, I love to keep things fresh and interesting. I came to massage after years of teaching yoga ignited my fascination with the mind-body junction, and how even the smallest changes in either can affect the entire being. I also found bodywork to be a powerful tool in my own personal work of self acceptance - as this created a safe space to focus not on the appearance of one’s body but on all the profound things it does for you, and in turn what you can do for it. I feel honored to be able to create the container where others can do the same.
I bring my background of years in medical studies, yoga instruction and continuing-Ed skills to my work & am versed in a variety of ways to make sure all bodies are comfortable. I strive to create a warm, neutral atmosphere so as to meet my clients where they’re at in any given moment.
Some common themes in my sessions include: a slow pace to work deeply without force; breathe cues and client collaboration when needed; a blend of styles & techniques tailored to you, and optional strengthening/stretching/mindfulness reccs so that your treatment can continue between our sessions.
I have a bit of an obsession with learning new things and my time is often spent researching or finding a new class to take. I love to go above & beyond for my clients and care deeply for all of them 🧡
